Astragalus, also known as Mianqi. Perennial herb, 50-100 cm tall. The main root is thick, woody, often branched, gray-white. The stem is upright, the upper part is multi-branched, has fine ribs, and is covered with white pubescence. Perennial herb, 50-100 cm tall. Produced in Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Gansu, Heilongjiang and other places.

Astragalus has been used medicinally for more than 2,000 years. It has enhanced immune function, liver protection, diuresis, anti-aging, anti-stress, antihypertensive and extensive antibacterial effects.

Due to long-term extensive mining, the number of wild astragalus has decreased sharply in recent years and is in danger of becoming extinct. For this reason, the plant was determined to be an endangered species and a national third-level protected plant.

Astragalus contains many chemical components, mainly including saponins, flavonoids, polysaccharides and amino acids.
