Bupleurum Extract

Bupleurum, Chinese medicine name. It is a herbal medicine included in the "Chinese Pharmacopoeia". The medicinal part is the dried root of the Umbelliferae plant Bupleurum or Bupleurum angustifolia. Golden Bupleurum contains rutin, ribitol, 29-acetate, 2-hexadecanol, α-bolesterol, flavonols, saponins, alkaloids, ascorbic acid, carotene, etc. During the flowering and fruiting stages, quercetin, isoquercetin, rutin, isorhamnetin and isorhamnetin-3-rutinoside can be obtained from flowers, leaves and stems. Bupleuri root contains saikudin, α-spinasterol, sucrose and polyacetylenic compounds.
