Citrus aurantium extract is the dried young fruit of the Rutaceae plant Citrus aurantium L. and its cultivated varieties or the sweet orange Citrus sinensis Osbeck. Collect free-falling fruits from May to June, remove impurities, and then sun-dry or low-temperature dry the extract. This product is hemispherical with a diameter of 3 to 5cm. The outer pericarp is brown or tan, with granular protrusions, and there are pit-like oil chambers at the top of the protrusions; there are obvious style remnants or fruit stem marks. The cut surface of the mesocarp is yellow-white, smooth and slightly raised, 0.4-1.3cm thick, with 1-2 rows of oil chambers scattered around the edge. It is hard and not easy to break. The pulp sac has 7 to 12 valves, with a few to 15 valves. The juice sac shrinks and turns brown to tan, containing seeds. The smell is fragrant, and the taste is bitter and slightly sour.
