Salvia Miltiorrhiza Extract

Salvia miltiorrhiza, Chinese medicine name. It is the dried root and rhizome of the Lamiaceae plant Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge. Excavate in spring and autumn, remove sediment and dry. It is distributed in most parts of the country.

Perennial herb, 30-80 cm tall. The root is slender, cylindrical, and has a vermilion skin. The stem is quadrangular and branched at the upper part. Leaves are opposite; odd-pinnate, compound leaves with 3 to 5 leaflets. The small leaves at the top are larger than the lateral leaves, and the small leaves are oval. Verticillium inflorescences are nape and axillary, the flowers are lip-shaped, blue-purple, the upper lip is upright, and the lower lip is shorter than the upper lip. The small nuts are oblong and dark brown or black when ripe. The flowering period is from May to October, and the fruiting period is from June to November.
